Arrivée à l’école, les enfants accrochent leurs manteaux et leurs sacs. Ils enlèvent leurs chaussures et enfilent leurs chaussons. Les enfants qui ont apporté une lunch-box rangent leur repas

Temps de travail individuel.
Les enfants choisissent un travail, s’installent sur une table ou un tapis, seul ou à deux.

Les éducatrices observent, aident ceux qui en ont besoin, protègent le travail des enfants concentrés, font de nouvelles présentations individuelles et parfois avec 2, 3 ou 4 enfants selon le matériel.

11h10 - 11h40

Les enfants rangent leur travail.  Après avoir lavé leurs mains, les enfants s’installent pour le cercle avec une éducatrice. Pendant ce temps deux enfants travaillent avec une éducatrice pour mettre la table.

Pendant le cercle, différents thèmes peuvent être abordés:
- Date, temps, saisons
- L’enfant peut apporter une fleur, une photo, un objet… ayant un intérêt éducatif et le présenter aux autres enfants.
- Chansons, mimes, rondes
- Trouver des réponses pour mieux vivre ensemble en proposant aux enfants de réfléchir ensemble, en mettant en scène les réponses possibles, en conversant…
- une présentation ex : porter une chaise sans bruit, dérouler et rouler un tapis, nommer des images d’animaux et les classer (reptiles, oiseaux, mammifères…)
- Discussions : comment vît cet animal, pourquoi mange t-on des légumes, le corps humain, raconter un moment important du week-end, des vacances…
- Lecture d’un livre
- Ecoute d’une musique

11h45

Départ des enfants qui ne déjeunent pas à l’école notamment les mi-temps.

Les autres prennent leur repas avec les éducatrices.
Le repas terminé, les enfants doivent ranger et nettoyer leur table, balayer. Après un passage aux toilettes, ils s’habillent pour aller en récréation.

12h30-13h30

13h30 – 15h30

Récréation. Certains enfants partent apres la pause.

Les enfants rentrent en classe, lavent leurs mains.
Selon les jours un livre peut être raconté par une éducatrice ou le travail individuel est repris de suite.

15h30

Les enfants rangent, se préparent pour rentrer chez eux.
Quelques chansons ou devinettes sont faites avec les enfants prêts les premiers.

Les enfants quittent l’école.*

*L'école propose un service de garderie jusqu'à 17h ou jusqu'à 17h40.

*Des cours de violon ou de piano sont possibles pour les enfants de 5ans +

Arrival at school. The teachers welcome each child.
Each child hangs up their coat, takes off their shoes and puts on their slippers. If they have brought a cold packed lunch, they will put it into the fridge.

8:40 - 11.10am

Children begin their individual work cycle as soon as they arrive at school.

Children choose the activities they would like to focus on. This helps to build autonomy and self-confidence. They are invited to set themselves up at table or on the carpet, either on their own or in groups of two.

The teacher will carry out presentations to individual children based on their interests or to small groups of 2 or 3 children demonstrating how to use the many Montessori materials that are made available in the classroom. The curriculum focuses on the 5 core areas: practical life, sensorial, numeracy, language and literacy as well as geography and knowledge of the world. There are also plenty of creative activities available including painting which is available to our pupils at any time during the day.

The teacher is there to observe, help where needed and provide support to every child in their learning.

At the end of the morning, children are reminded to go the toilet and wash their hands before circle time begins.

Circle time is a joyous time for all the children to come together as one, to share, to listen to each other and to sing together and to present to others in the group. This special moment together is led by a teacher and focuses on different themes such as:
-    Dates, time, seasons
-    The children may be invited to bring in a flower, a photo, an object and present it to the rest of the class
-    We may do some singing or miming
-    We may invite the children to find the answer to a question about how to live together or to think about a problem
-    We may have a short presentation about a topic : for this we invite the children to move their chairs without making any noise, to roll up a carpet, name animals, create a classification (e.g. reptiles/birds/mammals)
-    Discussion time. We may have a discussion about the theme of the day, for example for animals, what vegetables does an animal eat and why. We may learn about the human body, or talk about our weekend or holidays …
-    We may listen to a story being read
-    We may listen to music

11:45

The children who will not be eating at school go home.

Children who stay eat their lunch with each other and with their two teachers. Once lunch is over, children help to put everything away, clean up and sweep the floor. After a toilet visit, it’s time to go outside to play in the playground.

12:15 – 13:30

13.30 – 15:30

Children return to the classroom, wash their hands and have a drink of water. Depending on the day, a story may be read or music played. Individual and activities and presentations in small groups continue throughout the afternoon. 

15:30 – 15:45

Towards the end of the day, children will put away their activities, help clean the classroom and get ready to go home.  We may finish the day with songs or guessing games.

Children are picked up by parents or caregivers.*

*As an associative school, we also offer an after school club until 5pm or 5.40pm.

*Violin and piano lessons are available for children aged 5 yrs and over.
